Bharatanatyam

Bharatanatyam is one of the most popular and widely performed dance styles and is practiced by male and female dancers all over the world. It is the oldest dance form originating from India. This graceful dance is very technical in its nature with its precise movements and hand gestures and complex footwork.

Bharatanatyam has many health benefits in its practice as some of the movements originated from the ancient art of Yoga. Through regular practice the dance rewards you with a body of Stamina, Strength, Agility, Flexibility, Grace and Posture.

North West Asian Arts has been promoting this beautiful dance form in Bolton for over 16 years. We have seen our Students grow and progress in Bharatanatyam, from not knowing a single step to dancing in shows and getting better and progressing forward to an Arangetram where they perform a dance repetoire with live musicans in a theatre.

When learning Bharatanatyam with North West Asian Arts, you will have an opportunity to perform at our annual event as well as many other local and regional events to help provide you with important performing experience. You may perform solo or as part of a group.

Also, our classes are structured and students work towards completing the I.S.T.D (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing) Bharatanatyam exams. The exams mark the technical, theory and singing abilities of the student.

All classes run during School Term Times so why not come along and try a class and see how good you feel after. Checkout our timetable for more details.
